Wags & Walks celebrates our 2,500th dog saved by opening the first ever Wags & Walks Adoption Center in 2017! The center will be in a prime location in West LA consisting of two buildings totaling over 4,000 square feet of space to continue our lifesaving work.

Our new facility will be a bright, healthy and calm environment where the community will be welcomed to learn more about the benefits of pet adoption and where we will showcase our dogs in the best light – both literally and figuratively.

As homeless dogs enter our new space, they will receive the best care possible with innovative ventilation systems, an open concept design and a brighter kennel space. With an inviting and calm environment, our dogs will be healthier and happier which will lead to increased adoptions and shorten their length of stay. The open concept will also enable the public to meet the animals and staff in a bright, welcoming area, which will enhance the experience for everyone. Volunteers and staff will be working with and for the animals in a comfortable and caring space.

The facts:

Two buildings to expand our capacity for care

4,000 square feet of space

Welcome area for adopters

Two meet and greet rooms

Doggy play area

Community events room

28 kennels to double our intake per year

Grooming and dog wash station

The impact:

More than doubling the amount of dogs saved annually

Safe and sanitary kennel space for every dog

Increased volunteer opportunities for the community

Future programming to promote adoption, spay/neuter, humane education for children and efforts to keep dogs in homes and out of shelters
